Idolatry

If you have been brought up to believe the doctrines of the Roman Catholic church, this article will probably be offensive to you. I ask you to do one simple thing: ask God to confirm this message to you, to show you whether it is true or not, to make it clear to you that Satan’s goals are what is behind all the many lies he forges against the Lord Jesus Christ, the one and the ONLY one we are to worship.

WHY would Satan inspire the heresies concerning “the blessed Virgin Mary?” Well it’s obvious to those who know what the Bible teaches about Satan. In his demonic hatred of Jesus Christ, Satan does all he can to divert worship away from his hated arch enemy. In every religion that Satan has raised up, most of the doctrines in those false religions will be frontal attacks on the deity of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of Christ, anything else he can falsely accuse Jesus of.

Satan has greatly succeeded in raising Mary up to the status of one worshiped; Catholic people bow to statues of her, and build shrines to her. This is out-and-out idolatry.

But Catholics don’t know that, because the second commandment has been removed which forbids idolatry. Commandments

Apparitions

Millions have been deceived by “apparitions” of Mary that have supposedly taken place in several places all over the world. And why are they deceived? They are deceived because they believe that all supernatural experiences are from God. We are not disputing that those things are supernatural, we are showing that they are not from heaven.The Bible makes it clear that NOT all supernatural events are of God, and it goes to great lengths to make this point clear.

For example when Moses went before Pharaoh, he performed supernatural signs to validate his message. But …the magicians of Egypt were able to reproduce those signs.

“So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and they did so, just as the Lord commanded. And Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it became a serpent. But Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers; so the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.” Exodus 7:11


Taking a look at the very end of the Bible, in the Book of Revelation we encounter the Antichrist and the False Prophet who are able to do supernatural signs in order to deceive the people.


“The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish…” 2nd Thessalonians 2:9-10


And the Bible speaks of the rise of many false prophets who perform great signs and wonders:

“For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” Matthew 24:24

But these truths are not told to Catholics. They naturally think that anything supernatural is from God, and that’s why they fall to the deceptions perpetrated by someone claiming to be Mary, the mother of Jesus. When Jesus was tempted by the devil, he answered him:

“Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only you shall serve.’” Matthew 4


We are commanded to bow ONLY before God. And that truth is what Satan most hates. He wants worship for himself, no matter how or through whom he gets it, as long as the worship doesn’t go to Jesus Christ.

When Jesus went into the wilderness before his ministry began, Satan approached him and offered to give Jesus all the kingdoms of the world if he would only bow down to him and worship him. Imagine the hubris in demanding worship from the Son of God! We should all answer as Jesus did, “Get thee behind me, Satan!”

How can we know that an apparition is not of Mary, the mother of Jesus? We can know because the true mother of Jesus Christ would never say things that contradict the Word of God. She would never draw attention and worship to herself, she would never direct people to erect shrines to her, to craft statues of her, and to wear medals of her. Did supernatural events take place in the apparitions people flock to? Absolutely. But they most assuredly were NOT apparitions of Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.

“I am the Lord: that is my name, and my glory will I not give to another,
neither my praise to graven images.” Isaiah 42:8

The Catholic Church Raises Mary To The Level of Jesus


The Catholic church has gone even further, actually proclaiming Mary the “Co-Redemptrix,” meaning she is the Redeemer along with Christ. This is heinous heresy, obliterating one of the most important Scriptures in all of God’s Word, the fact that THERE IS ONLY ONE REDEEMER, ONLY ONE MEDIATOR between us and the Father.


“For there is one God and ONE MEDIATOR between God and men,

the man Christ Jesus…” 1st Timothy 2:5


“I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father EXCEPT THROUGH ME.
John 14:6


Statues of Mary and “saints” are erected and people bow before them and kiss them. They wear medals honoring her. Having been raised that way, they have no idea that they are fulfilling the desire of Satan to divert worship to anyone or anything other than Almighty God. Satan has won their hearts and they walk in lifelong deception.

As Catholics we wore medals and scapulars, all of which came with a promise from “the Blessed Virgin Mary.” I wore the brown scapular, the green one and the black one. I also had around my neck a silver medal. On one side was “the Miraculous Medal,” and on the other side was the “Saint Christopher Medal.”

Jesus said:


“Surely our fathers have inherited lies,
worthlessness and unprofitable things.”
Jeremiah 16:19

“God is Spirit, and those who worship him
must worship in spirit AND TRUTH.”
John 4:24
